The great amount of different games that a simple french deck of playing cards can offer is just amazing. A small item always in your pocket waiting for a spontainious fun game. That is what inspired this little project – A personal designed classic french deck of 52 cards. All drawn by hand in ink on paper and digitally assembled using Affinity Designer.

The four suits are devidet into a biological theme. Red cards represent land creatures and black cards represent aquatic creatures. Within these two groups, each suit has its own textural distiction. Heart represents soft-bodied and diamonds hard-bodied land creatures. Spades represents soft-bodied and Clubs hard-bodied aquatic creatures.
